The Third Crusade

The Third Crusade, Better known as “The Kings’ Crusade”, started in the middle east. The Zendig Dynasty of Syria and the Egyptians were having a war. Saladin ended the war by uniting the two forces into a Moslem superpower in 1187. The Scourge began with the fall of Palestine. Then the holy land of Jerusalem, Saladin’s primary target, was quickly conquer.
In the far of land of Europe, King Richard the Lion Hart, was shaken by this action. So much so that he formed an alliance with the French and went to save the Holy land. After capturing Palestine, The British were too week. In turn the Moslems were also too week to defend. The paradox was shattered when the two sides made a truce. The British left on the condition that the Moslems would let unarmed Christians visit the city.
