The Bill of Rights

What The Bill of Rights is:
The Bill of rights is (to me) an agreement for the rights we have for living in the United States. It also has the firsts ten amendments from the constitution. An amendment is a change to the constitution or state. A Constitution is the supreme law of the United States and was adapted on September 17,1787. The Bill of Rights is also the oldest written national constitution. All of the amendments protect all rights to the citizens on and in the United States(Territory). They(the government) protect the rights of freedom of speech, (the concept of being able to speak freely without being told your not allowed to) the press, (you are able to print your opinion or the truth in magazines, newspapers, ect.) religion, (to be able to believe in any religion you want to), the right of bear arms, (to be able to own a weapon and use it in self defence) freedom of assembly, (to organize or put together organizations) freedom to petition (to vote or decide on injustice) search in seizure, (where police or other government people are able to search where your living for a crime investigation) cruel and/or unusual punishment, and compelled self-incrimination. These are all the things the Bill of Rights says in the protection for living here in the United States.
How it helped our country:
The Bill of Rights helps us by protecting us and making the United States a better place to live and want to live. We allow women to vote, we allow news reporters to print their opinions and the truth. We want to be safe and live in a country that doesn't surround us by fighting. We want a choice to live in a better place for everyone.
