Clock Rate (MHz):
Every computer has a clock inside that times the rate in witch instructions are followed. The CPU inside a computer follows a steady number of clock cycles. If the clock is fast then there are more intstructions the CPU can follow every second. The Clock Rate is also defined as the "heartbeat" of a computer. A clock curcuit uses vibrations produced from a quartz crystal to generate a steady stream of pulses to the CPU. The vibrations beat at 1 million cycles per second when the clock uses MegaHertZ.
A clock rate of 1 MHz enables the computer to follow through with 1 million instructions per second.
