A cookie is a fairly tiny data file that is stored on yor computer by a certain website or url. This allows the computer to recognize the user of the computer and keep decisions and choices. For example, when you log into an e-mail, some sites like 'Yahoo' remembers your personal information such as your username and password. A cookie is what keeps you signed in and it is what allows you to make a personal page such as 'My Yahoo'.
